When is the best time for a maternity photoshoot?
The ideal time for a maternity photography session is between 28 - 34 weeks of pregnancy. During this window, your baby bump has a beautiful round shape, and you’ll still feel comfortable enough to enjoy your photoshoot. Some women prefer an earlier or later session depending on how they’re carrying, so I recommend booking as soon as possible to secure your preferred date.
Where does the maternity photoshoot take place?
Maternity sessions can take place in my Mississauga studio, which offers a private, elegant, and cozy environment perfect for timeless portraits. I also offer outdoor maternity photography in Toronto, Oakville, and surrounding areas, capturing the beauty of natural light and scenic backdrops such as stretch of parks along the lakeshore line.
How long does a maternity session last?
A typical full maternity photography session lasts about 1.5 hours, depending on outfit changes and whether we’re shooting in-studio, outdoors, or both. This allows plenty of time for relaxed posing, styling, and capturing a mix of solo portraits, couple shots, and family images.
What should I wear for my maternity photoshoot?
I provide access to a curated wardrobe of maternity gowns, fabrics, and accessories designed to flatter your growing bump and create timeless, elegant portraits. Many moms-to-be choose flowing dresses, fitted gowns, or simple, neutral pieces that highlight their natural beauty. You’re also welcome to bring your own outfits for a personal touch.
Can my partner or children join the maternity photoshoot?
Yes, absolutely! Including your partner or older children can make your maternity portraits even more meaningful. I’ll gently guide you through posing to capture both intimate couple moments and joyful family interactions, while keeping the focus on your pregnancy journey.
Do you provide props and styling for maternity sessions?
Yes - my studio is equipped with professional lighting, fabrics, maternity gowns, and accessories to create a wide variety of looks, from simple and classic to dramatic and artistic. If you’d like something more personal, feel free to bring items that hold special meaning, such as jewelry, flowers, or heirloom pieces. Even though I do not offer make up and hair styling, I will be happy to refer you to some of the trusted artists that I have successfully used in the past.
