IMPORTANT INFO

When is the best time for a newborn photoshoot?
The ideal window for newborn photography is within the first 7 - 21 days of your baby’s life. During this time, babies are sleepier and easier to gently pose into those sweet, curled-up positions. That said, beautiful portraits are still possible with older babies, and I happily accept newborn sessions up to 6 weeks old.
To secure your spot within this timeframe, I recommend booking your newborn session while you’re still pregnant or as soon as you’re home from the hospital.
Where does the photoshoot take place?
All sessions take place in my cozy Mississauga newborn photography studio, designed to feel warm, calm, and private. The studio is fully equipped with professional lighting, soothing setups, and a wide variety of hand-selected props and outfits to create timeless baby portraits.
How long does a newborn session last?
A full newborn photography session typically lasts around 3 hours, allowing plenty of time for feeding, cuddling, and soothing breaks in between poses. For families looking for something shorter, I also offer a mini newborn session (up to 1.5 hours), focused mainly on wrapped baby portraits.
What should we wear for the photoshoot?
I recommend choosing neutral, soft tones and simple clothing for parents and siblings. Avoid bold patterns or bright colors, as timeless styles photograph beautifully. Coordinating outfits is wonderful, but remember - less is more, and simplicity always shines in newborn portraits.
Do you provide props and accessories?
Yes! My studio offers a wide variety of newborn photography props, wraps, headbands, and accessories to choose from. If you’d like to bring something personal - such as a family heirloom blanket or a favorite toy - I’d be delighted to incorporate it into your baby’s session.
Can siblings or other family members join the session?
Absolutely! Sibling portraits are a special part of many newborn sessions. Please let me know in advance if siblings will be attending so I can prepare accordingly. Bringing along a favorite toy or snack can help keep little ones comfortable and happy during their time in front of the camera.
For the best experience, and to maintain a calm environment for your baby, my studio allows up to two adults to accompany the newborn. Extended family portraits are not available at this time.
Can we include our pet in the photoshoot?
Yes - pets are family too! If you’d like to include your dog or cat in the session, I’ll do my best to safely and comfortably incorporate them into your portraits. Please bring a leash, treats, and ensure your pet has had a walk or playtime beforehand.
What is included in the final gallery?
Within one week of your session, you’ll receive access to a private online gallery to view and select your favorite images. I provide more options than the package includes so you can choose the ones you truly love. Final edited newborn portraits are delivered within 1 - 2 weeks after selection.
Is newborn photography safe?
Yes - safety is always my top priority. With over 10 years of experience photographing newborns and young children, I take every precaution to ensure your baby is safe and comfortable throughout the session. All props, wraps, and outfits are sanitized after each use, and the studio is cleaned and aired before every appointment.

PREPARING FOR YOUR NEWBORN SESSION
A little preparation helps make your newborn photoshoot feel calm, smooth, and enjoyable. Here are a few tips to set you (and your baby) up for success:
Sleepy Is Best
Newborns photograph most beautifully when they are calm and drowsy. Try not to overstimulate your baby before arriving, and if possible, keep feedings flexible so we can settle them into those cozy, sleepy poses during the session.
Fed Is Best
A well-fed baby is a happy baby! Please don’t worry about sticking to a strict schedule - I encourage feeding your newborn on demand throughout the session. If you’re bottle-feeding, bring extra milk or formula to allow for top-ups as needed. I’m always happy to pause for as many feeding breaks as your baby requires.
Dress Up (and Feel Your Best)
Your session is a special milestone - and it’s a wonderful chance to celebrate yourself, too. If possible, consider treating yourself to professional hair and makeup so you feel radiant in your photos. That said, comfort always comes first. Whether you dress up or keep it simple, the most important thing is that you feel like yourself.
Add-Ons & Comfort Items to Consider
-
A warm blanket for your baby
-
A pacifier/soother (even if your little one rarely uses it - it can be helpful during posing)
-
Anything you typically use for feeding or changing routines
-
Snacks or a favorite toy if older siblings are joining the session, to help keep them happy and engaged
I also provide a wide variety of props, wraps, and accessories here in the studio - but personal touches like heirloom items or special keepsakes are always welcome.
Sharing Images & Privacy
As a family and newborn photographer serving Mississauga, Toronto, and Oakville, sharing images on my website and social platforms is an important way to showcase my work and connect with new families.
That said, your comfort always comes first. If you really don’t want any images shared - please let me know prior to to booking the session with me.
Most importantly, remember this is a special day and I will do my best to make it as stress free as possible and create best memories!

STYLES AND INSPIRATIONS FOR NEWBORN PORTRAITS
Every family is unique, and I believe your newborn portraits should reflect that. In my Mississauga newborn photography studio, I offer a variety of looks - from soft and minimal setups with neutral tones, to styled portraits with wraps, textures, and carefully selected props. Whether you love classic simplicity or something a little more whimsical, I’ll help design a session that feels authentic to your family.
I also love creating customized looks based on your preferences. If you have a special color palette in mind, a meaningful family item you’d like included, or a particular style you’re drawn to, we’ll incorporate those details into your baby’s portraits.
At the same time, many parents tell me they enjoy giving me the creative freedom to experiment. I approach each session with a blend of artistry and care - gently guiding the process while allowing room for inspiration to unfold naturally. This way, you'll receive a beautiful gallery with a variety of styles, while still knowing your personal preferences were honored.
The result? Timeless newborn portraits that feel both personal and one-of-a-kind, capturing your baby’s first days in a way that’s uniquely yours.
